Every year in May my spouse heads to the local greenhouse with her mother. While my spouse and her mother are picking there flowers to plant in ther flower garden, me I am wandering around the greenhouse with camera in hand photographing the flowers. There are so many flowers to photograph.

I try to find the flowers with bright colors and multiple colors. I also look for the ones with good blooms. The Red Dahlia above had a nice big bloom and the red was so vivid. I put a black background to make the flower stand out more. I thought with the original backgraound it took away from the flower. As you can see on the Red Dahlia I did manage to capture some good detail.

The Columbine is a favorite flower of mine. I photographed this Columbine just shortly after it was just watered. The Columbine comes in different colors as well. The Columbine is the Colorado State flower. This image I also went with the black background and there were other flower pots and plants that just took away from the Columbine.
After spouse gets all the flowers she wants then its time to go home and plant them. Once she gets them planted I will go out there in her garden and take photographs of her flowers in her garden.
